Lottie  P.
BEEBE for BESE District 3

About Lottie P. Beebe

I was born and raised in Louisiana. I grew up in poverty, but I had wonderful public school teachers who believed in me, challenged me, and inspired me to work hard and strive for success. As a grandmother, educator, and business owner, I feel blessed to have had good teachers that made a difference in my life, and I believe that providing access to a good education is necessary to combat poverty and expand opportunities.

The Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE) plays a vital role in our children's future. As an educator completing one term on BESE and with more than 30 years experience in the education profession, I have the skills and background to make a positive contribution to BESE and Louisiana's educational system:

     - I have worked for thirty-two years in the public education system.

     - I have served as a
classroom teacher, assistant principal, principal, supervisor, director, and I am currently Superintendent of St. Martin Parish Schools.

     - I am currently the
District 3 Member of the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education (BESE).

     - I served as the District 5
school board member in St. Landry Parish for eight years.

     - I have a
doctorate in Educational Leadership (University of Louisiana at Lafayette & Southeastern University Consortium, May 18, 2013).

     - I am the past president of the
Louisiana Association of School Personnel Administrators.

     - I am a member of the
    Louisiana Association of School Executives.

     - I am a
business owner, and I understand the impact that an educated workforce can make on businesses and the economy. That is why I support responsible education reform that provides a quality education for everyone.

     - As a person of faith, I like to attend
St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge
